I'm trying to install editwrx on a server run by HostExcellence. I'm performing the install from within the cgi-bin dir. Install.cgi has the correct path to the perl interpreter and i've set the permissions to 755.
When i run install.cgi, it asks me to choose the correct home page then begins downloading files. Somewhere around this time HE's server breaks and says:"Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request."
The install appears to fail at different points each time. I've run installPoint 4 times and so far it has downloaded 114, 17 and 179 before i get the 500 error. The fourth time it let me create an admin & user acct, but when i tried to go to the login page i got some software errors saying it was missing some files. Any ideas?
It sounds like your server is timing out on the transfer of files from the editwrx.com server to yours. Usually that takes only moments since servers have large pipes. However, traffic variations can cause the two servers to loose contact and error.
You could try the installer again but you would have to remove the /editwrx/library/routines.txt file first, installer does not move files if routines.txt already exists.
If nothing else, download the manual install zip and upload the /editwrx/ikons and editwrx/library folders. Do NOT overwrite the 6 files in the /editwrx/library/data folder or the cgi-bin/wrx.cgi as installer.cgi seems to have configured those correctly.
