I tried installing editwrx by using the installpoint on another server but it didn't function. So I contacted my hosting company and they told me following:
Their webserver only sopports CLI and not cgi.
I have no idea what CLI is to be honest but i will Google it:-). Nonethelss I tried installing editwrx by placing the installpoint in the cgi-bin. This seems to work partly. Problem is the installation of the files stops at file 198. I have tried it several times but it keeps hanging on file 198 and then Internet Explorer 6 hangs.
Again I need help.
Regards,
Martin

I have a feeling your host has no idea what they support....
The stall out at 198 is probably an indication that the server is throlled to allow only less than 200 requests from that server ton another. This is sometimes done to prevent a server from being involved in a denial of service attack.
You will need to install manually. Place wrx.cgi in the cgi-bin and all of the other files in the /editwrx folder so wrx.cgi knows whaere to find them. You probably can not place anything except cgi scripts in the cgi-bin.
You will not be able to do auto-updates due to the throttle.

I have a frightning feeling you are correct. Man it is so difficult to find a good hosting service you have no idea:-(.
I am currently hosted here:
http://www.serverboost.co.uk/shared_hosting.html
and it does clearly state cgi in this list.
I have installed it now in the cgi-bin. Would you happen to know if there is a workaround so I am not forced to use the cgi-bin?
Regards,
Martin

Hello Keith,
I have followed the explanation you gave here http://www.editwrx.com/forums/forum13/232.html to see if I could get editwrx to work outside the cgi-bin but I can't.
Would you happen to have any clue as to why that might be. I followed your explanation to the letter but to no avail.
Regards,
Martin
