Is there any end user documentation? Or will I need to write my own? I have a client that is now set up to use editwrx, but they would like something to refer to so that they don't mess up their web pages playing with it. You know how some clients are - they need their hand held.

Thanks! And Merry Christmas!

Version 6 was released in July. Since then we've added numerous features suggested by users as well as some architecture changes. We did not want to produce a comprehensive User Manual and tutorials while development was still going on.

We have now frozen EditWrx as far as development goes and are working on an Admin Manual and a User Manual. The User Manual will be part of EditWrx and will be keyed to the tools the admin has given that user.

Both manuals will probably not be available before Feb.

Hi Keith

Can you give us an update on the Admin and End User Manuals?

Thanks

Keith. Killer app. I've recommended it to several of the people i maintain sites for and am on the verge of recommending it for use on all the public school sites in my district. Having some instructional material would make a big difference. Are you expecting the end user manuals any time soon?

Surely by this point other admins have developed some kind of documentation. Kelly? If anyone would be willing to share, it would be greatly appriciated. Anything is better than starting from scratch.

New update tonight has an Admin manual available when logged in to the Admin Control Panel. Or actually, you can just go to the top of this page and click the new Administrator's Manual in the navigation bar.

Hello Keith

I have several sites I want to install the software on, so will need to produce a manual.

I have also documented (step by step) the installation, rebranding and licensing stages of a setup.

Would you have any objections to me offering these once I have completed them and created a PDF?

Regards
Richard

Any documentation that could be handed over to the users would make this a much more useful application. Lately I've been using Joomla instead, but I'm still rather fond of eW. Richard, if you'd be willing to share your documents I'm sure they'd be useful to lots of folks.
cheers,
micah

Hello Micah

More than happy to help. If Keith is okay with it I'll get them posted up as soon as I can.

Have to say I switched from Joomla to EditWRX as it was quick and easy to setup and easy for the users to understand.

Regards
Richard

My problem with creating an end user manual is that I'm too close to the trees o be able to see the forest. I'm so familiar with EditWrx that I can't see what questions a newby would actually have.

SO, I would REALLY love to see your end user manual!!! I would probably be more pleased than anyone else!

If you'd like to post a link to it here that would be great.

Hi Keith

That's great and not a problem. As I said I'll need to do one for my users so everyone else might as well make use of it too.

I've also got a line by line set of instructions for installation, rebranding and licensing as well, but not sure if you'd like those posted here?

Regards
Richard

Yes, Yes, Yes!

That's what this forum is for. It's not my forum, it's our forum.

I've added a post asking for any requests for the manual (hope it's in the right section). The post is http://www.editwrx.com/forums/forum3/371.html

Feel free to give me as long as list as you like - not saying it will be done immediately but I will try and cover as much as I can.

Regards
Richard
